The purpose of a consultation is not simply to schedule an operation. Some patients require urgent surgery, some benefit from an elective procedure, and others can be managed with observation, medication, rehabilitation, or further investigation.
Teaching and academic contribution
Alongside clinical work, Dr Nabeel contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, neurosurgical examination preparation, resident training, skills workshops and thesis evaluation. His academic interests include neurocritical care monitoring, brain-tumour mapping, low-cost patient-specific surgical technologies, endoscopic techniques and improvement of neurosurgical systems in resource-constrained settings.
